About the Job
The role of the Group Chief Accountant is to support the Group Senior Management including the PLC board and external stakeholders, by providing timely and accurate information.
You will produce a consolidated balance sheet and cash flow on a monthly basis as well as the producing the group consolidated and subsidiary statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards
Responsible for the group’s treasury function, providing regular working capital reports to operational management.
Ensure that the Group complies with its financial providers information covenants together with ongoing cash flow forecasting.
Manage the central accounting function, providing a monthly narrative report on performance to the Group Financial Controller.
Take an active role in the annual business planning process, liaising closely with functional departmental management.
Report on capital expenditure on a monthly basis, including an analysis of spend versus plan, assessment of the capital accrual and providing feedback to the group’s internal property team.
Ensure that best practices and process efficiency within the central accounting function is consistently evaluated and improvements identified.
You MUST be ACA qualified, and preferably this will represent your first move out of practice.
Exceptional leadership skills are required as well as strong attention to detail and a proven track record within accounts.
You will be in regular contact with the Groups senior divisional finance team as well as the Groups Corporate banks, so excellent communication skills are essential.
