I am delighted to be working in partnership with Darlington Building Society to recruit for a SQL Data Analyst to join the team on a 12 month FTC.

Job Purpose

You will be part of the team that provides and promotes the availability and delivery of business and management information, data quality and integrity. Your main responsibility will be managing and delivering new reports and supporting the creation of department specific MI. You will drive forward-thinking decision making and devise efficient methods to use all available data for maximum impact.


Main Duties of the Job

  • Provision accurate, timely, and relevant management information to all areas of the business

  • Prioritise and develop new reports in the move from our existing MI reports to our new MI platform

  • Identify departmental requirements for MI, mapping what is currently being used for what purpose, where crossovers exist between departments, and any unused MI

  • Liaise with business area experts and MI specialists where additional expertise is required

  • Ensure high quality standards are maintained, and all MI provides a single version of truth across the Society

  • Develop and maintain definition documentation for all newly created reports

  • Report, interrogate, and resolve reporting and data issues, identifying root causes where applicable

  • Ensure all relevant users are informed of any changes that affect their reports

  • Develop strong relationships with data stakeholders across the Society

  • Challenge any risks relating to reporting produced by the Society

  • Adhere to all data change processes and documentation

  • Support and advise on integrity testing of new data subsets and reports

  • Support the translation of business and regulatory requirements by aligning these with existing core system reporting

  • Where core system reporting is not sufficient, support the development of alternative reporting methods using the Society’s MI systems

  • Advocate the growth of automated data reporting by promoting our MI systems to meet business and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure reporting data is consolidated as a best practise standard

  • Contribute to data integrity and governance

  • Maintain the incident log and report to third parties where applicable within set Service Level Agreements

  • Support the maintenance of privileged access management and user details for the MI tools

  • Assist with any regulatory audits


Essential Criteria

5 GCSE passes C+ (or equivalent) including Maths and English

Experience with MI tools

Experience in MI production and data analysis

Extracting information from a database

Interpreting business requirements and identifying best practices
