Accounts Manager

NRG is working with a brilliant client based in Gateshead who are looking to add to their small, very friendly team. You will take on an all-rounder type role with sole responsibility in the accounts function.

 

Responsibilities

  • Use of the Sage Software to enter sales invoices and supplier invoices

  • Match of received balances with relevant invoices.

  • Maintain spreadsheets to detail commission due from sales invoices in order to easily identify payments in the future

  • Chase outstanding and aged debt on a weekly basis, making sure to send weekly statements and dealing with queries.

  • Ensure timely and correct payments are made to suppliers and all information is entered onto Sage.

  • Ensuring that any payments made via debit cards are entered onto Sage and cross charges are organized.

  • Complete weekly settlement statements, organizing information on both Sage and Excel

  • Deal with queries from external parties, suppliers and debtors.

  • Dealing with the distribution and logging of petty cash

  • Monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Complete quarterly VAT returns.

  • Monthly payroll for all staff and the reporting of all anomalies and changes as well as payments of PAYE and HI.

  • Deal with emails on a regular basis

  • Produce monthly P&L/Balance Sheet & Trial Balance sheets for directors and external accountant.

  • Ensure that vehicle MOT and servicing is up to date including insurance and tax.

  • Deal with other contracts such as printers and phones

  • HR matters are also dealt with by the accounts manager who will liaise with an external HR company.

  • Assist with H&S matters in cohesion with an external H&S company.

  • Working very closely with the managing director daily, daily meetings, organizing events etc.

  • Dealing with all paperwork accordingly.

About you

  • You will have a great deal of experience in similar office manager type role where you have taken on sole responsibility for a finance function.

  • You will have experience using the Sage accounting software

  • Ability to produce management accounts and deal with payroll is desired, but for the right candidate, we can be flexible on this.

  • You must be willing to chip-in to assist members of the wider team.
