NRG are delighted to working in partnership with Darlington Building Society. We are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join the team on an interim basis.

Job Purpose: The methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of the business functions and processes, the information used and the data on which the information is based.

The analysis of business processes and identification of system design and solutions to reduce costs, enhance sustainability and improve effectiveness.

The definition of requirements for improving processes and systems, reducing their costs, enhancing their sustainability, and the quantification of potential business benefits.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Takes full responsibility for business analysis within a significant segment of an organisation where the advice given and decisions made will have a measurable impact on the profitability or effectiveness of the business.

  • Enhances existing approaches to process improvement and/or develops new approaches.

  • Evaluates the financial, cultural, technological, organisational and environmental factors which must be addressed in the process change.

  • Work with the SME to produce training materials suitable to the training subject matter and audience

  • Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and support the design of effective business processes through improvements in information systems (automation), information management, practices, procedures, and organisation change.

  • Produces high-level and detailed business models, working with colleagues involved in change activity prepares Project Scope and Business Case documentation (including options, benefits, costs, risks).

  • Recommends, applies and monitors the use of required modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards.

  • Conducts investigations at a high level for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies.

  • Documentation of “As Is” business processes, opportunities for improvement and detailed definition of the “To Be” state including gap analysis – including an assessment of the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and costs.

  • Day to day management with overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring and control of agreed work packages and project work streams.

  • Facilitation/support of stakeholder groups and workshops to clarify business requirements, map processes and define opportunities for improvement (using lean or other methodologies).

  • Prepare programme/project reporting and documentation as appropriate.

  • Assists Project Managers to develop Project Plans including resources, costs and timescales for delivery of business change projects.


Generic Responsibilities:

  • Takes responsibility for budgeting, estimating, planning and objective setting within projects under control.

  • Motivates, guides and supports stakeholders involved in the process redesign projects

  • Ensures that stakeholders understand process design for the areas they are supporting and how process change is delivered.

  • Participates in appropriate internal and external networks and professional groups in the interests of the role and in order to enhance networks and share good practice.

  • Develop excellent working relationships with senior/management stakeholders across the University.

  • Develop close working relationships with all key stakeholders

  • Good working relationships with third party suppliers and external organisations as necessary.


Key Qualifications:


  • Degree or equivalent in business related discipline, business management, process improvement
