An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Talent Management and Succession Planning Manager to join the organisation on an initial interim contract of 6 months.
Reporting to the Director of People and working within a wider HR function, this is a key position with the opportunity to positively impact on the future development of the organisation’s talent management and succession planning framework. The role combines both a strategic focus with hands-on elements in the review and development of systems, and tools. You will deliver projects to ensure the right talent management capabilities are in place across a highly diverse and skilled workforce to enable planning for future organisational needs. Key areas of focus will include: -
Lead the creation and implementation of a modern inclusive talent management and succession planning approach that meets the needs of the organisation and creates a sustainable pipeline of talent to support future growth and productivity
Partner across the various business areas to identify talent requirements and gaps linked to skills shortages, demographics and industry trends, making recommendations on how to futureproof the organisation
Develop processes that support the overall talent management and succession planning philosophy across the organisation, drawing on best practice and benchmarking against external organisations
Develop framework on leadership capability across the business, reviewing existing practices against organisational requirements and making recommendations
Harness and roll out a robust benchmarking and performance management matrix which rewards and celebrates high performance, identifies and develops employees with high potential and acknowledges and supports key contributors
Support the HR Services Team Manager to review and assess the overall applicant attraction strategy, making recommendations where applicable to ensure a great experience for all applicants
Collaborate with L&D team to support employee development and training requirements and enable the succession planning process, allowing all employees the opportunity perform effectively in their roles
Support the organisation to increase knowledge and skills relating to talent management and succession planning across the People Team.

An experienced HR professional is required with a demonstrable track record of success gained within talent management and succession planning, with advanced knowledge of the same. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in an HR, Business or psychology related field and with exposure to world class talent management processes gained within diverse sectors and organisations. The ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and influence across the organisation, challenging norms and spearheading best practise is essential. A strong mix of knowledge, organisational ability and communication skills will be key to success in this role.
