NRG are delighted to be partnered with Darlington Building Society, recruiting for a Mortgage Team Leader. Based at our Darlington Head Office Site, we are looking for individuals who have a passion for leading people and supporting direct customers with their needs and circumstances, when either looking for a new mortgage or servicing their existing loan outstanding with Darlington Building Society.
Mortgages are at the heart of what we do at the Darlington and the Direct Sales team are the first line of support to direct members.
As the Leader within Direct Sales you will be responsible for supporting Mortgage Advisors competence and ensuring direct customers’ needs are met. Whilst maintaining relationships within the local community and ensuring that the strategic direction of our business is achieved within your area. You will deliver the best possible customer experience whilst adhering to internal policies and procedures at all times.
A few of the many things you will do in the role:
Directly line manage mortgage advisors/mortgage administrator, at all times driving staff engagement.
Support the team within member engagement ensuring needs are met, driving up standards and supporting solutions to provide an outstanding customer journey
Proactively promote and sell the Society’s products and services to the direct customer market ensuring the Society’s annual sales objectives are achieved.
Complete mortgage appointments for our member base
Review and agree/refer or decline Decisions in Principles (DIPs) in line with the Society’s Risk Appetite / Lending Policy.
Undertake an initial assessment of all mortgage applications received ensuring it meets the Society’s lending criteria.
Produce and distribute accurate management information on a timely basis.
The type of person we are looking for:
Previous experience working in a sales environment within financial services sector
Previous experience in a mortgage related sales role
CeMAP qualified and experience of completing Mortgage Advice & Recommendation within the last 12 months
Ability to build strong internal/external relationships.
Must be confident with Digital Technologies in addition to good Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Knowledge of mortgage products and regulation
Min of 5 GCSE’s grade C or above (or equivalent) including; Math’s and English
Strong customer service experience
Ability to think outside the box
Ability to make decisions
Able to work accurately and under pressure
Full driving license is essential.
Experience of leading people within a certified role
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, between 8am – 8pm., 9am – 2pm on a Saturday.
