NRG are currently recruiting for Business Analysts on a contract basis to join our well known manufacturing client based in Newcastle.

This role is offered as a 4-6 month placement.


  • Researching possible software solutions to increase work efficiency

  • Interpreting data about company policies and workflows

  • Supporting project teams during the analysis and planning stages of software development

  • Working on other project phases like implementation and testing

  • Facilitating a successful release handover

  • Estimating costs and time requirements of projects

  • Evaluating risks and predicting potential problems

  • Writing reports, instructions, and specifications and creating flowcharts

  • Determining risk and return on investment

  • Acting as a liaison between the business and ICT

  • Development of business change plans Facilitating meetings and process mapping workshops

  • Acquiring knowledge of core business applications (as is and future capability)

Desired Skills/Experience:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience

  • Understanding of IT architecture and infrastructure (Data Management, Applications, Technical Infrastructure)

  • Exceptional ability to communicate and explain complex issues in clear, concise, persuasive language both verbally and in writing

  • Experience working within a Consumer Packaging business

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain and NPD business processes

  • Experience of Business Analysis methodologies (e.g. functional specifications, Use Cases, User Stories etc)

  • Experience of analysing cross-functional business requirements, reviewing and improving business processes

  • Experience of change programmes involving business process and organisational change

  • Experience of working in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis teams, and implementing standard processes for Business Analysis and application management

  • Experience in working with key users


  • Experience of Enterprise Architecture planning and development (TOGAF)

  • Experience of IT service management disciplines based on ITIL or similar, ideally with the ITIL v3 Expert qualification

  • Qualified in PRINCE2 project management and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)

  • Hold a BCS/ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis, or IIBA/BCS Chartered/Certified status

  • Familiar with Consumer Packaged Goods sector (Business functions and process lifecycle)

  • Management and leadership experience in a complex organisation

  • Experience of Business Analysis methodologies in both waterfall and agile environments (e.g. functional specifications, Use Cases, User Stories, Swim Lane Mapping (AS IS and TO BE) etc)

  • Experience of working with external suppliers

  • Experience of operating within Architectural Frameworks
