Overview

Responsible for all accounting and financial reporting for the Washington site ensuring accurate and timely financial information. This is a key role in the business and will be the senior member of the finance team on the Washington site.

The role

This role reports to the Group Finance Controller West Yorkshire.

  • Responsible for day to day management of the 2 finance and reception/administration assistants

  • Responsible for all bookkeeping for the Washington site.

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate production of month end management accounts.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining robust financial controls over the site and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Responsible for the month end stock valuation and providing an understanding of movements in the period.

  • Oversee the weekly and monthly payroll and the monthly reporting to HMRC.

  • Ensure all Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant tax returns are submitted accurately and on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for managing the Washington CID facility on a daily basis and doing monthly reconciliations for the bank and being the primary contact for quarterly audits.

  • The primary contact for the year end external audit team for the audit of the Washington company’s financial information.

  • Work with all key management in Washington to drive efficiencies and manage costs of the business.

  • To assist the management of the Group with any ad hoc projects.

Person Requirements

  • Part-Qualified or Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

  • Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft office. Knowledge of EFACS is desirable, but not essential.

  • Keen attention to detail and an ability to not take things at face value.

  • An interest in changing processes to improve the performance of the finance function and a willingness to see it through.

  • Experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing business would be desirable, but not essential.
