Our client is a renowned national data utilities, transport and communication business with a workforce of over 10,000 staff and a turnover in excess of 1 billion pounds.

The Head of Analytics ensures that the business in its various departments understands its own health, finds growth levers, and identifies opportunities for optimization. The Head of Analytics leads the business through all efforts that drive business performance and potential by using the existent and new data sources and techniques.

The Head of Analytics additionally leads the data analytics department in the development of a departmental culture, policies, and strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Key in the development of Data Collection Energy core business activities and facilitate the provision of added value services through analytical change.

  • Liaises and advises senior management regarding process efficiencies and outputs acting as an analytical expert.

  • Represents at meetings with both internal and external stake holders

  • Owns and drives performance of analytics solutions to impact overall business results 

  • Defines the business questions that need be answered and defines appropriate analytics models in addition to identifying and readying relevant data sources for analysis to solve the issues.

  • Carries out other project work and duties as required from time to time

  • Deliver financial requirements both in respect of EBITDA and Cash

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through the increasing delivery of key performance metrics relevant to each customer

  • Embed a strong health and safety culture focussed on driving the business into a proactive perspective

  • Drive forward continual improvement in line with operating businesses strategy over the coming FYS

Competencies and knowledge:

  • Strong leadership and man management abilities

  • Delivers excellent service to both internal and external customers

  • Ability to communicate at all levels from Managing Director down to entry level positions

  • Data Analysis – be able to take raw data and create meaningful MI and give valuable Data Insight from it

  • Excellent problem solving techniques

  • Ability to develop strong, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to deal with complexity and conflicting priorities with ease

  • Coding experience e.g. SQL development capabilities, Perl, Shell or equivalent etc

  • Utilities industry knowledge and experience



Skills and Qualifications

  • Skill Proficient verbal and written communications skills

  • Adept at using office products such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word and/or Google equivalents to create MI

  • Confident and strong presentational skills

  • Past business process re-engineering experience

  • Relevant Degree
