Digital Trading Manager

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Marketing Director, your brief will be the management of all digital platforms to ensure that they showcase the brand and product, whilst driving brand awareness, advocacy and sales. You will be responsible for continually analysing and improving website performance, liaising with the appropriate 3rd party agencies, and proactively increasing revenue through the new platforms.

Responsibilities include:


Analyse site performance

  • Conversion rate trends, across channels and devices – desktop, mobile and app

  • Own Google Analytics – reviewing KPI performance and reporting to Management

  • Monitor and report on bounce rate across landing pages and site load time

  • In depth understanding of Customer behaviour – device, peak order times, browsing behaviour

  • Product conversion rate and key category performance metrics

  • Funnel data and basket performance analysis


Proactively increase revenue through new platforms

  • Work with the website agency to establish the most suitable apps to augment the current site and increase revenue

  • Negotiate prices and establish contract

  • Jointly manage relationships with the supplier

  • Test functionality from a UX point of view when new platforms are integrated

  • Report on A/B testing recommended by the website agent


Site Trading and CRO

  • Work closely with product uploaders to ensure product copy is optimised

  • Alongside Buying to ensure categories are merchandised to suit trading conditions, navigation reflects current focus and recommended products are kept up to date

  • Manage the Promotional Calendar to ensure all promotions and campaigns are launched correctly across all platforms and track results

  • Oversee 3rd. party relationships if appropriate

  • Oversee and own content, product and pricing across various international sites to be tailored and kept up to date

  • Review heat map tools to draw conclusions and roll out recommendations



  • Ensure the E-Commerce team deliver on the following:

  • Own the relationship with POQ – from an operational and strategic point of view

  • Proactively report and resolve issues within the App platform

  • Report on performance and flag issues to management

  • UX test new App version releases before being rolled out

  • Ensure all promotions and launches run smoothly across the app

  • Track ROI and key KPIS for offers and promotions


Trust Pilot

  • Ensure the E-commerce team:

  • Work closely with customer service to monitor changes in performance and establish why

  • Report to the business current performance and any issues

  • Proactively consider ways to gain more and improve reviews and protect current performance


Competitor Benchmarking

  • With the support of the E-commerce team, ensure that:

  • Weekly competitor activity benchmarking

  • Reviewing competitor categories

  • Monitor key search terms

  • Inform buyers on key themes and highly searched categories or products
