Data Integration Analyst

NRG are working with an established organisation in the Education Sector to recruit an experienced Data Integration Analyst to support with various data integration solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain and support middleware applications for:

    • Data Integration platform (Data feeds, ETL, Web Services)

    • Database systems

    • Inter-institutional user authentication and authorization

 

  • Using data warehousing and database design techniques, design and maintain a reusable data platform for use by the Institutional Data Feed Service.

  • Provide advice and practical assistance to others on technical and architectural issues relating to systems integration and data architecture.

  • Analyse business processes and customer needs and be able to translate into documented, technical data integration solutions.

  • Structure and produce analysis of data for the purposes of business intelligence

  • Pro-active monitoring of services to satisfy availability, performance, capacity and licensing requirements.

  • Identify areas of service improvement and contribute to service improvement activities.

  • Scripting/programming to automate system processes to achieve efficient and reproducible delivery of services using standard tools as well as systems integration e.g. PHP, Java and Talend. PowerShell, Perl.

  • Liaison with and support for staff in other administrative units of the organisation, in particular providing documentation, advice, training and support on making effective use of the IT services.

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Significant Analyst experience of data integration and manipulation,

  • Experience with extract transform load (ETL) tools, data integration by web services (REST or SOAP) and developing data feeds between systems.

  • Experience of other relevant data integration and manipulation approaches

  • Experience of Data manipulation in databases (SQL)

  • Experience of Data access, transmission or storage protocols e.g. SQL, JSON, XML, Web Services, LDAP

  • Understanding of data management principles and practices.

  • Some experience of system or software development

  • Some experience in administering or developing Java based applications (Desirable)

  • Experience with Linux or UNIX (Desirable)

  • Experience of enterprise data integration services (Desirable)

  • Able to work on own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines

  • Commitment to providing high quality, highly available services

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels to provide 2nd line support and consultation on requirements

  • A robust approach to planning, developing, testing, documenting and implementing IT systems.
