They are seeking an inspirational and successful leader to take overall responsibility of the business. As a Board member, you will work closely with the Company Chairman and Investors to facilitate an ambitious growth plan and ensure the business is reaching maximum potential.  You will carry a proven record of operating at Director level within the construction industry and able to evidence successful internal leadership and organisational development.

 

 

The Role

 

The purpose of the role is to effectively manage the performance of the organisation, as stipulated by the Board’s overall strategy. You will proactively manage and motivate a sizeable team to ensure operational efficiency across each business unit. You will be required to proactively drive and manage change in order to take the business to the next level.

 

You will review both commercial and operational performance of all work streams and projects, completing substantive reports of monthly revenue and WIP. Carrying full understanding business objectives, you will direct strategy toward profitable growth and maximum productivity.

 

Working with an agreed business development plan, you will analyse opportunities for growth in market segments in order to drive profitability. Reviewing current business strategies, you will ensure that new business potential is maximised across all avenues.

 

Showing exceptional financial acumen, you will work closely with the Finance Director to  review the company’s financial performance; you will work with the FD to implement company budgets and forecasts, reporting these back to the Board & Investors to ensure compliance with long-term strategic financial plans.

 

Bringing extensive commercial understanding, you will review working practices and implement new commercial processes as required. By developing strategic operating plans you will reflect longer-term objectives established by the Board. You will closely monitor the operating and financial results against plans and budget, taking remedial action where necessary, informing the Board of any significant changes.

 

As a proven leader, you will ensure that operating objectives are not only understood, by proactively carried out by management and other employees. Taking full accountability for all company operations you will assess the overall performance of work streams, reporting on appropriate measures required to deliver business targets.

 

 

 

Your Experience

 

In order to be considered for this role it is essential that you carry a successful record of business growth and internal leadership, operating at strategic Director Level. An effective communicator, you will evidence excellent leadership skills, management experience and the ability to motivate employees. Additionally, you must be heavily results oriented, in addition to having strong business-development skills and the ability to interact as both an internal leader and external influencer.

 

A visionary leader, you will show understanding of multifaceted organisations, with in depth knowledge of specific markets and changing business environments. You must carry experience of successfully driving change across an organisation.
