Principal Software Developer

This role is with an award winning organisation within the Education industry. They are responsible for contributing to the success of a vast number of students and aiding them in moving in the right direction towards a solid career path.

 

The reason for hiring is because this particular company is in the early development stages of releasing a whole new platform which will allow learners to track their educational journey. This means there is the opportunity to work on a greenfield project with up-to-date technologies with a development team eager to get their teeth stuck into some proper coding.
 


 Your role will be to:

  • Design and develop high quality software systems to support our business needs.

  • Work directly with the Enterprise Architect to design and define application architecture.

  • To be responsible for the definition and implementation of software design principles, practices, and standards which are aligned with overall business model.

  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practice and supporting Software Developers and Testers in the team.

 

Candidates will need:

  • Proven software development experience in a developer role that includes related disciplines such as testing.

  • Strong Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, C#, MVC, Web API skills, Entity Framework, XML,

  • A strong working knowledge of SQL server, Team Foundation Server, Windows Server, Visual Studio, VSTS, Azure cloud services and source control repositories in particular GIT

  • Experience in building and testing web services; JSON, REST / SOAP

  • Familiarity of frontend technologies including HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Knockout, Angular

  • Experience working with NoSQL, Web services (REST / SOAP), micro services and containers

 

There is the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week with this position. Hours are entirely flexible as long as you work the required 37.5 hours per week, how you do this is up to you.
