NRG are working exclusively with a large organisation in the healthcare sector and due to their continued growth are looking to recruit an Assistant Applications Developer to join their digital services team.

Starting Salary: £20,000 + pay progression + fantastic benefits including:

Responsibilities:

  • To establish effective and reliable Intranet and external websites.

  • Maintenance of these developed web sites

  • Work with users to achieve publication of their material as web pages

  • Advising on style issues and the suitability of web media as means of achieving those aims.

  • Development of data collection mechanisms through the use of forms and linked databases.

  • Transfer of files to web servers, both internal and external, having regard to security issues.

  • Work with Information Governance to ensure that access to web resources and data conforms to agreed security policies.

  • To provide advice and support as required where projects and initiatives include web components, or where such projects and initiatives could be assisted by the introduction of web components.

  • Administration, design and support of internal resources developed in Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS, and SharePoint Services)

  • To administer and support legacy Content Management Systems.

  • To undertake regular reviews of existing site design and implement style and format changes to maintain an attractive, communicative and navigable user experience.

  • To impart basic web development skills, and provide an initial measure of support and coaching to colleagues and staff as required to meet technical and operational targets.

  • To participate in the on call Rota

 

Requirements:

Essential

  • Educated to Diploma level, or equivalent level of knowledge through practical experience in IT or a related discipline

  • Applied knowledge of HTML / XHTML, CSS and associated web

  • Knowledge and experience of internet software (FTP, e-mail, etc.) and web protocols

  • Applied knowledge of databases using SQL server

  • A sound knowledge of relational databases gained through theoretical and practical study

  • Excellent communications (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work to challenging deadlines

  • Logical Problem solving abilities

  • Flexible and adaptable to change 

Desirable

  • Experience of supporting desktop applications

  • Knowledge of network fundamentals

  • Knowledge of Internet Standards such as Accessibility guidelines, W3C, DDA etc.

  • NHS experience

  • Experience working as part of a software development team

  • Experience with source control techniques

  • Experience writing shared and reusable components of code

  • Knowledge of Windows server operating systems
