PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Manage the commercial team of the strategically important Car Parking business within Newcastle International Airport.

Maximise revenue and EBITDA through effective yield management, sales and marketing, call centre and website sales, management of distribution channels, customer management, and technology utilisation.

Provide hands-on yield management to maximise transaction value and conversion rates across multiple products and revenue streams, utilising multiple pricing strategies.

Further develop business intelligence tools to create, utilise and distribute strategic reports and management information across the business.

ACOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Manage Car Parking commercial functions including yield management, sales and marketing, financial processes, call centre / website operations, and distribution channels.

  2. Implement strategic initiatives to stimulate financial growth and support the objectives of the Car Parking Business Strategy.

  3. Achieve income and cost budgets. Increase YOY income and income per passenger by increasing ATV and market penetration, and maximize returns from all routes to market.

  4. Utilise the company’s business analytics systems to generate strategic reports across the business. Work with key business stakeholders and the IT team to enhance the systems.

  5. Liaise with the Operations team to deliver exceptional car park products with high standard of customer service, whilst maximizing profitability and use of capacity.

  6. Monitor, analyse and report commercial performance (daily, weekly, monthly & annually.

  7. Provide hands on yield management combining automated and manual pricing techniques across all products and revenue streams, to maximise income whilst achieving incremental revenue gains.

  8. Consider constrained / unconstrained product capacities, length of stay, non-refundable / refundable products, booking lead time, seasonal pricing & product upselling. Prioritise sale of high revenue products & maintain overall balance and growth of the product range.

  9. Provide multiple segmented products to meet varying customer needs, Increase peak & off-peak car parking sales, utilising spare capacity off peak and maximising sales on peak.

  10. Implement effective marketing campaigns to provide market presence. Increase revenue generated from advertising. Specify enhancements to car parking websites and booking systems, delivering seamless transaction flow and rich functionality to drive revenues.

  11. Retain existing customers by providing a memorable customer experience and acquire new customers and market share.

  12. Ensure the team applies meticulous financial reconciliation across all revenue streams.

 

Person profile

A Commercial Management professional with a demonstrated track record of driving business improvement through management of multi-disciplined teams, along with hands-on knowledge and experience of utilising yield management techniques to drive revenue.

Candidates should possess commercial management experience along with hands-on yield management experience within a sales environment. Significant IT, numeracy and data analysis skills are also required, which should be backed by experience of utilising business analytics systems to drive improvement.

Qualified to degree level (Business, Engineering, Accountancy or other related disciplines). Ideally MBA qualified although this is not essential.
