The role of a hand therapist is fundamentally about the consistent delivery of high quality clinical care of musculoskeletal conditions for the patients presenting in a range of settings. You will be a registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist who specialises in the rehabilitation of patients with conditions affecting the hand and wrist.
You will be positive, constructive and approachable and carry out tasks with fairness and integrity at all times. You will apply your clinical judgement and reasoning, alongside using your scientific knowledge to deliver outstanding patient care.
The hand therapist will be expected to be well organised, conscientious and capable of managing the varied caseload of sometimes complex patients in a variety of clinical environments. An ability to work well under pressure as well as a commitment to CPD and a desire to facilitate improvement in both self and services are also key characteristics.
Main Purpose of Role
To work as an autonomous practitioner, within scope of practice, and deliver a range of quality clinical service meeting the clinical and commercial needs of the Service
To develop and promote a positive and dynamic image and culture to both internal and external stakeholders. At all times striving to reflect and encourage core value behaviours
To develop and foster productive relationships with patients, local Consultants, GPs and other key stakeholders.
CLINICAL LOCATIONS MAY INCLUDE NHS COMMUNITY CLINICS, PRIVATE CLINICS, CORPORATE CLIENT SITES, SPORTS VENUES OR OTHER LOCATIONS WHERE CONNECT IS ENGAGED IN SERVICE DELIVERY
