Are you an ambitious, driven, hungry Finance Manager or Management Accountant looking for a rewarding role in Sunderland?


I'm on the look out for a Finance Manager to join an exciting, growing business in Sunderland. You will be responsible for the running of the Finance Department and delivery of financial support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, coordination and monitoring of all aspects of financial operations.

  • Lead the academies in the annual budget setting process.

  • Development of financial and management reporting information.

  • Ensure accurate completion and timely submission of all statutory returns and submissions.

  • Lead the year-end financial processes and procedures.

  • Preparation of draft financial statements

  • Support the financial strategy and planning of the business

  • Development and continuous improvement of the financial services of the Business



Financial Management


  • Provide high quality financial advice and guidance to budget holders

  • Support each Business unit (6 currently) in the development of their annual budget and produce the consolidated annual budget for the businesses

  • Support the FD in the development of medium term financial plans and financial strategies for each business unit

  • Maintain and monitor all budgets

  • Conduct reviews and evaluations of cost reduction opportunities

  • Responsible for ensuring that the finance systems and records reflect the latest accurate position and management accounting reports are produced and distributed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Responsible for control account reconciliations, funding analysis and reconciliations, monthly budget monitoring, debtors and credit control

  • Financial accounting and reporting

  • Treasury management

  • Manage the internal audit contract and all work undertaken in financial areas.

  • Co-ordinate the external audit team, ensuring that all work is undertaken in order to meet governance and statutory requirements


You will be required to travel to sites across the North East.
