Our client is one of the North East’s leading and most established organisations. Due to growth and expansion they are looking to recruit a Service Desk Specialist. This role would suit a candidate who is looking to build a long-term career with a great local company.


You will be responsible for the following:


  • Provide first and second line IT and Telephony support to internal staff at all sites. Support may be given in person, by telephone or by remote means.

  • The role is required to deploy equipment and software to colleagues and maintain accurate hardware and software inventories.

  • The role will write, maintain and refer to knowledgebase articles.

  • This role is responsible for responding to first and second line support requests.

  • Meeting support response times and provide professional and courteous service to staff, accurately documenting the outcome.

  • When required give physical assistance to the Infrastructure Team.

  • Validate and maintain knowledgebase items and inventory.

  • Liaise with the Infrastructure Team and hardware and software vendors when third line support is required.

  • Build and deploy client machines to agreed standards

  • Support requests handled or escalated within defined SLA timeframes.

  • Telephone and VC support offered as means of contact.

  • Satisfied users.

  • Accurate Inventories

  • Comprehensive up to date knowledgebase items


You will have:


  • Good telephone skills and positive customer service mentality

  • Flexibility in dealing with a combination of simultaneous projects and tasks

  • Work independently to research and resolve technical issues

  • Ability to work as a team member to share application knowledge

  • Proven experience Installing and Configuring Microsoft Desktop technologies. Experience configuring and troubleshooting Win7/Win8.1/Win10 and Microsoft Office Applications

  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting OSX

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Android OS and iOS on mobile devices desirable

  • Knowledge of configuration of software/hardware/firmware - Desktop/Laptop

  • Microsoft support qualification or equivalent desirable Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory structures desirable. Experience of videoconference technologies desirable

  • Ability to troubleshoot new or unfamiliar software and hardware technologies essential.


Salary: Upto £20,900 plus excellent benefits.
