Superb opportunity to join a dedicated project team within a leading, global FS business.  


We are looking to recruit a Systems Developer to work within a systems and projects team, to focus on the support of internal systems and databases, automation of processes, implementation of best practices and standards, and improvements to internal systems.


The Systems Developer also ensures any reporting issues are resolved promptly and within any agreed SLA’s, with all key stakeholders updated and incidents tracked through Remedy if necessary.


As part of the role you will be required to provide weekend on call support as part of a rota.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Scheduled delivery of reports and other solutions to meet customer needs

  • Design and development of self-service purpose built solutions to meet customer needs

  • Work in line with internal control and governance practice

  • Awareness and understanding of business impact of data controls and criticality on operations for any related failures

  • Resolution of incidents to ensure timely fixes and tactical improvements to all internal systems

  • Support the internal infrastructure to provide accurate & timely data from core systems

  • Support front-end dashboards to enable operations to utilise them for decision-making and analysis

  • Support internal databases and undertake DBA activities

  • Development of improvements to internal systems, processes and monitoring tools

  • Undertake maintenance ensuring fixes are in place within agreed SLAs to minimise operational & cost impact

  • Ensure all developments are UAT tested and fully rolled out to stakeholders to enable maximum benefit


Person Specification:



  • Excel / Access skills including VBA

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL

  • Database administration and management experience, particularly in SQL Server

  • Experience in a similar role

  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills at all levels

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills

  • An energetic, flexible and results orientated approach to work

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Self-motivating and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Team player

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Very fast learner

  • Takes complete ownership, seeing actions through to completion

  • Has an good awareness of risks and actively applies controls to operations




  • Database design and development experience

  • Web application support and maintenance including .NET technologies

  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack (SSRS / SSIS)
