We have moved! After spending 40 years at our previous Head Office in central Newcastle, we have relocated to the stunning NEON Building at Quorum Park.
It is incredibly important for us at NRG to support local charities in the North East whenever we can. Considering our move, we worked with two local charities to repurpose our unwanted office furniture and supplies.
We have loved hearing from our chosen charities to hear how our donations have been used.
Voluntary Organisations Development Agency (VODA)
“Several of the HP laptops are being used by students of NT Life. NT Life supports people, their families, and carers experiencing mental health challenges. By offering educational courses about mental health and recovery to increase students’ knowledge and skills, and help them feel more confident in the self-management of their own health and wellbeing. The laptops are helping beneficiaries to access learning and support networks.
The remainder of the HP laptops are in use by volunteers of the Good Neighbours scheme. The scheme has supported some of the most vulnerable and socially isolated residents of North Tyneside throughout the COVID crisis. In particular, the Doorstep IT Buddies scheme, designed to help older people understand how they might use online shopping, online prescription ordering, Zoom, Facebook etc. This has been timely in preparation for England’s second lockdown.
More laptops donated to Phoenix Detatched Youth Project to provide marginalised children in deprived parts of North Tyneside with laptops that they can use to do their schoolwork”.
Earsdon & Wellfield Community Association
Earsdon & Wellfield Community Association have informed us that the chairs, canteen tables, fridge and printers and all are now in use which will help those who use the facilities at the Community Centre. The organisation has been striving to maintain, and better the experience provided for the ever-increasing number of people who visit the centre. From the Children’s dance classes to the OAP Art classes and many classes in between; visitors have commented on the striving progress made.
