Lorna Moran OBE, founder and chair of Northern Recruitment Group (NRG), was honoured for her huge commitment to the Entrepreneurs’ Forum at the North East Entrepreneurial Awards.
Lorna co-founded the Entrepreneurs’ Forum together with Sir Peter Vardy in 2002 with the aim of providing inspiration and support to business leaders in the North East. The not-for-profit forum has grown from 40 founding members to over 300 North East entrepreneurs and provides a support network to nurture emerging talent and growing businesses that make a genuine impact to the North East economy.
Lorna who is also the current High Sheriff of the County of Tyne and Wear, was awarded the prestigious award at a ceremony hosted by athletics legend Steve Cram at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead on Friday evening.
Lorna comments “I am deeply honoured to receive this Lifetime Achievement Award from the Entrepreneurs’ Forum.”
“As one of the original founders of the Forum 16 years ago, I am delighted that it has not only survived but thrived and continues to be very relevant today. For me, it confirms that entrepreneurs coming together to listen to inspirational success stories, encourage and mentor each other and share ideas creates an organisation like no other for the region.”
“On a personal level, working with many inspirational members of the Forum helped me enormously in growing my own business, NRG.”
“I am sure the Entrepreneurs’ Forum will go from strength to strength as will the regions amazing entrepreneurial spirit.”
