Covid19 has completely transformed the way that businesses operate. For some, home working has become the new normal and will continue indefinitely. As we move in into the next phase of the pandemic recruitment activities will resume. Many will use virtual recruitment and on-boarding to ensure they have the talent they need to rebuild and grow their business.
Adapting to virtual recruitment and on-boarding
Tombola are a British online gaming business with their HQ based in Sunderland. Lockdown restrictions meant a surge in demand for their online bingo games. Subsequently, an increase in headcount was required. At the start of the pandemic they moved to fully virtual recruitment model. To date they have successfully on-boarded 60+ new employees, none of whom they have met face to face.
Our Client Relationship Manager Julie Mordue chatted to Mark Scott, Robyn Townshend and Abbey Hogg of the people services team at Tombola. They share how they moved to a fully virtual recruitment model, the challenge of right to work checks, remote on-boarding and the future talent landscape.
