National Living Wage – Employers encouraged to prepare now
Businesses are urged to prepare for National Living Wage which will come into effect from 1 April 2016. Employees in the UK aged 25 and over will earn a minimum rate of £7.20 per hour, an increase of 50p per hour on the current rate for this age group.

The CIPD has conducted a survey on the expected impact on employers and this research suggests that the retail, hospitality and healthcare sectors will be hardest hit by this change.
