The North East Manufacturers Growth 50 list is the first of its kind to be published on our region’s manufacturing sector and reflects its huge importance to the North East economy.
It has been researched and compiled by RTC North, on behalf of the Manufacturing Growth Network (MGN), using data from Experian Market IQ and is ranked by percentage growth in turnover as on the company’s latest filed accounts.
The list has been published by Insider in conjunction with MGN sponsors NRG, EY, Lloyds Bank and Square One Law and is the best possible proof that the manufacturing sector in the North East is in excellent shape with businesses of all sizes performing strongly in challenging markets at home and abroad.
Vertellus, the specialty chemicals manufacturer, has topped a list of the 50 highest growing manufacturing businesses in the North East.
The company, which supplies into the agriculture, nutrition, pharmaceutical and medical industries from its base in Middlesbrough, has grown over 89 per cent from last year.
Others on the list include Ensus UK, which has increased turnover beyond the £200m mark and Dyer Engineering, which last year secured a £1.95m investment from Maven Capital Partners to support its growth plans.
