Booking is now open for CIPD’s third annual Big Event on Wednesday 10th October 2018 – sponsored by NRG and greenbean by NRG.
The CIPD Tees Valley branch provides opportunities for its 1200 members to network with local HR and L&D professionals, to continue with their professional development and remain up to date with HR issues.
The world is changing at an ever-increasing pace. With countless distractions and sources of uncertainty and confusion, technology and politics being just two as emphasised by Peter Cheese in his editorial to the September 2018 issue of People Management, it is often too easy to forget that we are all human and remain the most important resource of an organisation.
Following the success of CIPD’s previous two conferences, this year’s Big Event intends to remind us about the humanity of workplaces and to do so from a wide-ranging perspective and the role HR play in putting the ’human’ back into ‘human resources’.
CIPD have an exciting line up of diverse speakers (greenbean by NRG included) who will share their experiences, knowledge and insights on a wide range of topics from mental health, well-being, diversity, culture and much more – all of which are sure to provoke further discussions and certainly provide ideas to take back to the workplace.
As Director of Client Solutions at greenbean by NRG, Leanne Chambers has operational and strategic responsibility for NRG’s RPO and MSP business. From the impact of employee disengagement, reduction in productivity, training costs and speed to competence, Leanne will share the benefit of her experience, knowledge and proven track record in talent acquisition to highlight the ‘true cost of recruitment’, discussing when it is right to let go, and when it is right to retain.
Alongside the presentations and workshops, as in previous years, delegates will have access to an exhibition of stands related to the theme of the conference, as well as the opportunity to visit the new Teesside University Business School.
The day will commence with registrations from 09:00 and the welcoming address will be delivered at 10:00 by Peter Cheese, Chief Executive of the CIPD, who will be sharing his thoughts on working in HR and what the future holds for the profession.
The day will conclude with a closing address at 16:00 by Prof Jane Turner OBE,Teesside University Pro Vice Chancellor (Enterprise and Business Engagement).
