Senior Test Engineer

About the role

Location: Cramlington (Hybrid working – 2 days in office, 3 days at home)

Working pattern – Monday – Friday

We are excited to be working with a fast-growing digital business based in the North East. Due to continued success and innovative product launches, they are looking to hire a senior Automation Test Engineer.

To be successful in this role you need to be a highly skilled automation engineer who can take ownership of and establish an automation framework and environment from scratch. You will also have the confidence and ability to train up new and existing members of the QA team in automation testing.

In return, you will have the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible hours to support a healthy work-life balance, as well as early finishes every Friday.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Create and preserve frameworks running automations within pipelines.

  • Construct refined test scripts for fresh product features centred on the requirement.

  • Maintain and enhance automated test suites.

  • Work together with leads for the purposes of formulating a coherent testing strategy

  • Build and implement test plans for releases.

  • Lead the QA team to model test strategies.

  • Detecting quality concerns and recording concise tickets

  • Offering assistance to the team

  • Work closely with QA Analysts and Software Developers to formulate solutions.

  • Sustain code quality, organisation, and stability.

  • Able to compose and maintain technical documentation.

Desirable:

  • Acquainted with agile, scrum and kanban

  • Acquainted with the DevOps

  • Accustomed with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

  • Acquainted with issue tracking software e.g. JIRA

  • Acquainted with Code Review practices
