About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Security Specialist to join a highly established organisation in the education sector, on a contract basis for 6 months.
Based in Newcastle.
This role is full-time 35 hours per week with a mix of hybrid and onsite working.
The Security Threat and Vulnerability Advisor will assist in the development, implementation and promotion of security strategy, policies, procedures and improvement initiatives across the organisation.
This will include an overarching security strategy, supporting policies, security threats, vulnerability and risk assessments, and training and awareness programmes.
Job Role
Contribute to the development of a security culture
Contribute to the development of operational security service activities
Implement changes to the design and development of the security management system
Provide specialist security expertise and support with the complexity of data and information sources, interpretation and analysis
Design and deliver security training, teaching and/or development delivery for all stakeholders
Design and deliver a Security Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment Programme
Provide proactive and comprehensive input, advice and support on departmental security issues and proactively managing risks
Lead on, and conduct, proactive security surveys and risk assessments
Skills/Experience
A recognised Security Management qualification
Thorough understanding of managing a Security Management System
Knowledge, skills and experience to deliver a Security Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment programme in a complex organisation
Experience implementing policy and procedures
Knowledge and experience ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational policy and guidelines
Excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to influence
Educated to degree level (or equivalent, relevant experience)
