About the role

Our client a Mid-Market private equity house and trusted investment partner is looking for an experienced Edinburgh based Investment Director

Responsibilities:

• Developing strategic investment relationships for the fund, Participating in direct investment strategy and vision formulation.

• Sourcing, evaluation and execution of direct investment, co-investment opportunities in line with the strategy, whilst monitoring and optimising portfolio of direct investments and co-investments: analysing historical investment performance, financial statements/models, market data.

• Building and presenting investment theses for new deals and follow-on investments. Preparing/reviewing investment memoranda and investment recommendations. Market mapping, sizing, and other research. Leading comprehensive due diligence processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience focused on sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring of direct investments.

• Solid experience in direct investment portfolio construction and monitoring.

• Excellent organisational skills, including managing projects, tasks, and initiatives tightly, and being forensic on governance and processes.

• Strong results focus, ability to work efficiently and grasp various strategic and operational matters yet seek guidance from the senior investment board team where necessary.

• Superior analytical skills, systematic and critical thinking. Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to relay complex ideas in a plain and clear manner.

• Demonstrated ability to interact on a C-level with companies, funds, and other partners. Willingness to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Hands-on direct investment experience and broad network is essential. Candidates without hands-on direct investing experience.
