NRG is recruiting an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a major technology upgrade programme within a complex enterprise environment.

Working alongside technical and project teams, you will take a hands-on role in the build, upgrade, migration and security of Windows-based infrastructure.

This opportunity would suit an experienced infrastructure professional who combines strong hands-on engineering skills with an understanding of infrastructure security, structured project delivery and change management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, upgrade and migrate Windows Server infrastructure
  • Support server rollout and migration activity across physical and virtual environments
  • Apply established security standards and hardening procedures
  • Support virtualised infrastructure and enterprise server environments
  • Deploy and support infrastructure security tooling
  • Work within established change control and governance processes
  • Produce implementation, risk and backout documentation for technical changes
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, technical specialists and third-party suppliers
  • Communicate technical changes, risks and progress to relevant stakeholders

Technical Experience

We are particularly interested in engineers who can demonstrate:

  • Strong Windows Server build, upgrade, migration and maintenance experience
  • Enterprise virtualisation and server hardware experience
  • Infrastructure security, server hardening and security tooling experience
  • Experience working within structured change control and governance environments
  • Strong technical documentation and implementation planning skills

Experience within large-scale, regulated or security-conscious technology environments would be advantageous.

About You

You will be a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer who is comfortable working as part of a wider project team and taking ownership of technical delivery.

Alongside your technical experience, you will need strong communication skills. You should be comfortable participating in project and change meetings, explaining technical activity clearly and producing accurate documentation to support your work.

Existing security clearance would be advantageous, although candidates who meet the appropriate eligibility requirements and are willing to undergo a security clearance process can also be considered.

This is an initial three-month contract with a September start.

If you are an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with strong Windows, virtualisation and infrastructure security experience, apply today for a confidential discussion.
