Assistant Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are delighted to be working with one of the largest organisations in the North East to recruit an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their business partnering team.

Based in Durham, this role involves hybrid/remote working and flexible start times (there may be some travel involved).

The salary is £38,000 - £40,000.

The role:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with the business creating a real and active partnership with operations and management. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide real-time high-quality support and analysis.

You will look to build professional and effective business partner relationships across the business, along with owning stakeholder relationships and being the first point of contact for insightful financial analysis.

Your key duties will include:

  • Build professional and effective relationships across the business

  • Provide insightful financial information to enable decision making

  • Help to build financial and commercial awareness

  • Analyse and interpret financial information

  • Support the business in the preparation of business cases

  • Proactively look to streamline and simplify processes and reporting

  • Lead the annual opex budget process

  • Undertake financial performance reviews

The requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by relevant experience

  • Experience in a fast-paced, complex, financial organisation

  • Experienced in senior stakeholder engagement, change management and preparation of business cases

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
