We’re pleased to bring you the next event in our Exchange series, a joint initiative between NRG and Ward Hadaway designed to create space for senior HR leaders to connect, share insight and explore the challenges shaping organisations today.
For our upcoming session on 20 May, we’re delighted to welcome Dr Elouise Leonard-Cross, Group People Director at Northumbrian Water Group, who will lead a keynote titled Culture at a Crossroads: Leading Organisations Through a New Era.
Organisational culture has long been recognised as a key driver of performance, yet many traditional approaches are no longer delivering the impact leaders expect. In a landscape shaped by rapid change, increasing complexity and evolving workforce expectations, culture is at a pivotal moment.

This session brings together research and real-world experience to challenge conventional approaches that focus on values, engagement scores or top-down initiatives, but often fall short of delivering meaningful outcomes. Drawing on insights from Northumbrian Water alongside broader evidence, the session will explore what truly drives performance in today’s environment.
We will look at how leading organisations are shifting from culture as messaging to culture as a system, one that shapes decision-making, accountability and operational outcomes across the business.
Elouise brings both depth and practicality to this topic. As a Chartered Psychologist, Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and Chartered Marketer, she combines academic insight with extensive leadership experience. Alongside her role at Northumbrian Water Group, she is an active contributor to the North East’s leadership community through a number of board and advisory positions.
The Exchange is designed for HR Directors, Chief People Officers and senior people leaders, offering a trusted environment for peer-level discussion, fresh thinking and practical insight.
Join us on Tuesday 20 May, 9.00 am to 11.30 am at Ward Hadaway, Newcastle.
