Main Purpose

 

To provide high quality administrative support to a limited range of tasks and activities as required by the School Manager. These will primarily be based around Learning and Teaching support.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

Under the direction and guidance of the Teaching and Learning Coordinator and Deputy School Manager:

 

  1. Work with academic colleagues to migrate teaching materials from Blackboard (the University’s VLE) to a new simplified template. This will involve using initiative and knowing when to ask for further guidance from both managers and academic staff.

  2. To assist the Marketing and Communications Team to populate the new School Intranet.

  3. To assist in the production of programme and module handbooks.

  4. To undertake large-scale shredding and scanning tasks.

  5. To share cover for the main reception counter, providing a friendly and efficient service to staff, students and visitors to the school

  6. To assist Professional Service colleagues with the preparation of materials for student induction.

  7. To provide cover for staff in the Teaching Office when required (holiday and sickness absence).

  8. Undertake checking and cross referencing tasks (for examply involving Module Outline Forms) under instructions from the Teaching and Learning Coordinator.

  9. Undertake any other task as deemed appropriate and necessary.

Qualifications

Good general level of education (typically GCSCE grades A-C in English and Maths)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook requiring no further training to undertake this role.
