Due to a recent restructure within the finance team, there are a number of new vacancies!

As Management Accountant, you will be required to work within the management accounts team to deliver an effective service to defined customer satisfaction measures, performance metrics, service standards, timescales and budgets which support the maintenance of strong financial control.

The role is responsible for producing management accounts ensuring timely submission to budget holders and for finance consolidation, highlighting, for further discussion with Business Stakeholders and Finance Manager, the overall financial performance, issues/risks and potential areas for improvement. . Consistent financial support to Finance and Group colleagues is a key requisite particularly during the forecast and budget process..

 

 

In order to be considered for this opportunity, your CV must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience

 

  • Professional qualification in accountancy e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or with equivalent relevant experience.

  • A strong understanding of accounting standards with experience in producing management accounts, financial budgets and reforecasts together with variance commentary, VAT, appraisals and capital expenditure within a complex Group environment.

  • Knowledge of asset and component accounting with an appreciation of property development and maintenance, capital expenditure and grant applications within a complex Group environment is desirable.

  • Good technical accounting skills with an ability to critically analyse and interpret financial information, identify issues and recommend strategies to deal with them.

  • Staff management experience is desirable with an ability to self-motivate and inspire colleagues to achieve objectives, prioritise team workload, co-ordinate activities and work under pressure to meet reporting deadlines.

  • Developed interpersonal and negotiating / influencing skills, with confidence to constructively challenge budget holders on their financial performance.

  • Well established communication and presentation skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports, summarising the essence of complex issues and reaching well-argued and clear conclusions and recommendations.

  • An experienced user of integrated financial systems and well developed skills using standard MS Office applications particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
