Due to a recent restructure within the finance team, there are a number of new vacancies!

As Financial Accountant, you will be required to work collaboratively with the Development team to prepare robust financial models and forecasts for complex, multi-phase development and regeneration schemes, monitoring financial projections, stress testing individual scheme appraisals and development programmes to identify issues / risks / exposures and ensuring appraisal tools reflect current actual scheme performance.

The role is responsible for ensuring strong and effective financial controls are in place for development activity including undertaking key control account reconciliations and contributing to the compilation of development scheme budgets, forecasts and business plans ensuring correct accounting and funding requirements are understood and factored into plans.

 

 

In order to be considered for this opportunity, your CV must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience

 

  • Professional qualification in accountancy e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

  • Strong technical accounting skills with an ability to apply those skills in modelling complex development projects and joint ventures and understanding the financial performance of the scheme / joint venture as well as the impact on the Group’s financial position

  • Substantial experience of financial modelling of investment opportunities including stress testing models to quantify potential financial risk

  • Knowledge and experience of the UK tax system, in particular the tax issues which require consideration within property developments, and the ability to incorporate the impact of tax issues into scheme appraisals and models

  • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiating / influencing skills, with confidence and experience to constructively challenge senior colleagues on their financial performance and management, as well as budget variances on projects

  • An ability to critically analyse, reconcile and interpret financial information with excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports summarising the essence of complex issues and reaching well-argued and clear conclusions and recommendations

  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve objectives, and proficient at prioritising workload, co-ordinating activities and working under pressure to meet deadlines

  • An experienced user of integrated financial systems and well developed skills using standard MS Office applications particularly Excel for modelling and Word
