Time Served Tool Makers

Following a major expansion in the on-site Tool Room facility, we are now looking for a number of additional Time-served Tool Makers to join us to service and repair press tools, jigs and other production aids in accordance with relevant procedures, policies and specifications.


  • Perform both Planned Preventative Maintenance and TPM on a day to day basis.

  • Provide first line response to tooling problems.

  • Fault finding and diagnosing on a range of press tools.

  • Carry out maintenance repairs, modifications and improvement activities in relation to press tools, jigs and other production aids.

  • Support any tooling related quality or process issues.

  • Complete, maintain and update maintenance documents as required, includes the Tool Management Database System.

  • Support the new product introduction process (NPI).

  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes and procedures.

  • Prioritise own work load and liaise with others on a day to day basis.


  • Must have completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a relevant engineering qualification (equivalent to NVQ level 3).

  • Must have experience in high-volume engineering environment with knowledge of tooling associated with mechanical / hydraulic / automated presses. 

  • Previous experience in a similar tooling role working with the following would be distinct advantage:

    • precision multi-stage progression tools (pierce/form/blank operations)

    • Chassis / BIW press tooling

    • Small to Medium transfer pick and place tooling

    • Tooling involved with pressing multi-layer materials

    • Varied materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium

    • Assembly jigs / fixtures / gauges
