NRG are proud to announce we are currently working alongside BEL Valves, part of the British Engines group, to recruit an HR Manager to lead and develop the HR function within the business.


The role also has responsibility for HR Management within BEL Engineering and Tyne Subsea, ensuring HR support is provide across these businesses efficiently.


General duties and responsibilities:-

  • Working with the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team to develop a progressive business HR Strategy

  • To provide an advisory and consultancy service to senior managers on all matters relating to human resourcing policy and practices

  • Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of the business’s strategic planning activities

  • Liaise with Group HR in the development of Group HR Strategy, Policies and Procedures

  • Provide leadership on the negotiations and consultations relating to agreed policies including trade union agreements and particularly pay reviews

  • Responsible for developing effective employee engagement including employee communications through regular briefings and annual business presentations

  • Driving, controlling and monitoring the recruitment, selection and appointment of all staff including appropriate authorisation, preparation of job adverts, specifications, job descriptions etc. and the induction of staff

  • Ensure the maintenance of the bi-annual employee review process and ensure that outcomes are linked to the business objectives and are actioned and reviewed

  • Identifying training needs, succession planning and contribute to coaching and development of Managers/Supervisors

  • Formulate, review, and introduce, in association with the Group HR Department, HR policies and procedures appropriate for the development of the business and in compliance with employment and other legislation

  • Line management of reception staff and executive administration staff

  • Provide support to the Group HR Department on projects and HR work streams

  • Ensure that you and your team comply with the requirements of British Engines Health, Safety and Environmental Policy


To be considered for the role you must:-

  • Have experience in an HR Management position

  • Have previously worked in a heavy engineering/industrial manufacturing environment

  • Have experience of working with unions

  • Be able to operate at strategic level and report into the board
