Superb opportunity to join a leading global FS business.

 

We are looking to recruit an experienced Data Analyst/Developer to focus on the creation of new data solutions, automation of current processes, implementation of best practices and standards, and improvements to internal systems.

 

The Data Analyst/Developer also ensures any reporting issues are resolved promptly and within any agreed SLA’s, with all key stakeholders updated and incidents tracked through Remedy if necessary.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Scheduled delivery of reports and other solutions to meet customer needs

  • Design and development of self-service purpose built solutions to meet customer needs

  • Work in line with internal control and governance practice

  • Awareness and understanding of business impact of data controls and criticality on operations for any related failures

  • Resolution of incidents to ensure timely fixes and tactical improvements to all internal systems

  • Embed data visualisation into every day culture – understanding its use, value and purpose

  • Support the internal infrastructure to provide accurate & timely data from core systems

  • Support front-end dashboards to enable operations to utilise them for decision-making and analysis

  • Work with the business to understand requirements and scope future developments

  • Creation of dashboards and reports for the business with a focus on visualisation

  • Undertake maintenance ensuring fixes are in place within agreed SLAs to minimise operational & cost impact

  • Ensure all developments are UAT tested and fully rolled out to stakeholders to enable maximum benefit

 

Person Specification:

Required:

 

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • Experience in a MI/Reporting or similar role

  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills at all levels

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills

  • An energetic, flexible and results orientated approach to work

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Self-motivating and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Team player

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Very fast learner

  • Takes complete ownership, seeing actions through to completion

  • Has an good awareness of risks and actively applies controls to operations

 

Desirable:

 

  • Database design and development experience

  • Knowledge of business intelligence solutions (MicroStrategy, Microsoft BI Stack, Tableau etc.)

  • Banking sector experience, especially in a similar role
