The Auckland Project is dedicated to the regeneration, conservation, and celebration of the stories and heritage of the former home of the Prince Bishops of Durham. For the past ten years, its regeneration charity has sought to create sustainable, commercial opportunities that will drive investment into Bishop Auckland and the surrounding County Durham area.
With over 35 pipeline projects underway the inspirational team at The Auckland Project already successfully run a number of world class attractions including:- Auckland Castle, the Mining Art Gallery, the Weardale Railway, the newly opened Spanish Gallery and a Faith Museum – the first of its kind to contemplate the history of faith in Britain and what it means in the present day.
The 3 Star Park Head Hotel is seeking to appoint a General Manager to lead and manage the hotel through a refurbishment programme and re-opening in the Spring of 2022.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 year’s experience working in a quality hotel environment, who is inspiring, ambitious and has a hands-on approach.
You will be responsible for growing, training and managing your team to ensure the delivery of an exceptional standard of customer service to hotel guests.
You will develop and generate repeat business, and ensure that the hotel is recognised locally and in the group market as the ‘go to’ place for excellent food, accommodation and hospitality.
Reporting to the Commercial Director and working alongside the project's team Advisor for Accommodation and Hospitality, you will develop and deliver the brand new offer for the Hotel and Restaurant.
You will be entrepreneurial in nature and be someone who seeks out and maximises business development opportunities to increase sales and profitability across the hotel offer.
You will be responsible for the management of all hotel operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and high standards are maintained throughout.
Manage all hotel operations and systems including staff rotas, food & beverage and maintenance.
Ensure all necessary policies and procedures are in place and that the hotel operates in a safe and compliant manner.
Build, lead, train and motivate your team to ensure consistently high standards are delivered and maintained.
Contribute to an effective marketing strategy that drives room occupancy levels and restaurant spend.
Establish an effective hotel reputation management strategy that results in high levels of customer satisfaction.
Agree and implement hotel and restaurant KPI’s to meet operating financial planning targets.
Create and use management information to monitor operating targets.
Working with HR, develop and implement a flexible staffing structure that meets business requirements.
Monitor and respond to customer reviews on social media and third party review sites, building a positive media profile.
Be committed to good health and safety and access practice, ensuring that the whole team is familiar and competent in the operation of, and compliance with, organisational policies, procedures and guidelines. Be a champion for the health and safety of visitors, staff, volunteers and contractors at all times.
