Technical Support Engineer

We are working in partnership with a national IT Service Provider trusted by some of the UK’s biggest brands to appoint an additional Backup Support Engineer to join their Newcastle team.

You will act as an escalation point for the Service Desk and liaise with 2nd and 3rd line support teams to ensure that requests and incidents are dealt with professionally and quickly.

You will have a passion for continually improving customer response, resolution, and service availability.

The successful candidate will have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive experience of working with backup products such as Veeam or Asigra

  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting backup and restore problems

  • Knowledge of configuring and using backups in shared infrastructure environments

  • Knowledge of networking protocols

And a good understanding of:

  • Microsoft OS and related products

  • Cisco

  • TCP/IP

  • VMWare

  • Linux

  • Citrix/Virtual Desktop/SQL
