Do you have experience leading a team of content creators?

Do you want to drive the content strategy for one of Europe’s largest employers’ associations?

They’re looking for a Head of Content to join their team in Durham.

 

You will take full responsibility for the content strategy to drive the membership organisation forward. 

 

As a Head of Content you will ensure all content is on-brand and ensure your team have a high-quality output.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a company’s digital channels and lead a team to produce innovative and creative content.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Determine the editorial guidelines and tone of voice for the brand

  • Manage the financial aspects of the publication’s content. This includes finding new and innovative ways to utilise funding to gain a broader readership, recruit new members and drawing up budget proposals

  • Create and develop an integrated content strategy incorporating PR, Content, Social and Awards to represent the entire membership organisation

  • Develop new approaches to content creation looking at sourcing primary and secondary information, analysing, and then creating content across a mix of media

  • Create an active editorial/content schedule which incorporates events and key dates from the business, industry and members

  • Ensure all content is edited, proofread and fact-checked before being published

  • Collaborate with contributors such as the marketing and communications team, business development and the connect team to bring ideas together and elevate the business

  • Build relationships with external bodies

  • Periodically attend events such as conferences, seminars, receptions, and exhibitions

  • Work with all members of the team to ensure they make consistent improvement in their professional skills

  • Managing all Press, PR, and Partnerships that further develop brand awareness and engagement

  • Excellent forward planning and content strategy is essential to the role

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Drip, Mailchimp, Campaign Manager and email campaign software would be beneficial

  • Experience in social publishing and social listening tools (such as Hoostsuite and Sprout Social)

  • Microsoft Office and Teams understanding (Word, Powerpoint and Excel)

 

About You

You will have a degree in journalism, communications or similar and have experience as an editor or head of content. To succeed in this role you will also need strong leadership and interpersonal skills to line-manage your team, along with strong attention to detail and good decision-making skills. As a Head of Content you will possess excellent writing and editing skills, as well as being able to analyse data and create reports.
