NRG are delighted to be working on behalf of an established and professional charity organisation based in Durham to recruit for a Finance Manager.

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and operation of the organisation’s finances and administration in accordance with current legislation, relevant operational regulations and external quality standards.  

 

Duties of the role include:

  • Managing the Charity’s financial activities, including the computerised accounting system, financial records, bank accounts, taxation matters, investments including preparation and submission of annual returns and the management of cash flow.

  • Ensuring the recording and secure keeping of all cash/cheques held on the premises and banking of all cash/cheques where appropriate.

  • Preparation for and management of the annual audit including production of the year end group accounts for audit

  • Production of budgets and cash flows to allow investment decisions to be effectively made.

  • Preparation and management of payroll functions including pensions.

  • Production of monthly management accounts and report on variances.

  • The production of relevant information and reports for the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees as required, together with attendance at relevant meetings.

  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested.

 

To be considered for the role:

  • Proven experience of financial and administrative work at a senior level.

  • CIMA (or Equivalent)

  • Experience of managing staff and volunteers and team leadership

  • Experience of financial management and budgetary preparation and control

  • Experience of producing group consolidated accounts for audit

  • Possess the ability to use a computerised accounting system.

  • Experience of payroll processing and knowledge of PAYE & NI issues

  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures.

  • The ability to work to a high standard of accuracy.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and lead others
