Head of Tech Ops

Our client are a leading global provider of embedded business finance. They work in a sophisticated, largely autonomous fashion to assist their growing list of world spanning clients. With offices throughout the UK they are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Tech Ops capable of moulding a strong, reliable team to develop under them. The Role will be fully remote with occasional travel to London and an expansive list of company benefits.

You will have the following experience:


  • Building out the DevOps team and processes

  • Building out the Quality Engineering team and processes so engineers have the tools and frameworks they need and the appropriate checks in place

  • Collaborating with engineering and IT to design solutions in a compliant and scalable architecture

  • Managing information security programmes of work to deliver operational excellence across our platform

  • Collaborating with your team and stakeholders to solve complex business issues

  • Contributing to the architectural governance to ensure efficiency and scalability

  • Focusing on the quality of the software whilst delivering frequently to the customer


About you


You are someone that is passionate about building and supporting great software, ensuring our standards and compliance are best-in-class, and thrive on managing cross functional teams to achieve great results. You’ll be used to managing teams to achieve high standards without creating barriers, you’ll keep track of our technical standards and build roadmaps to achieve greater compliance with our high standards. We think you’ll need:


  • Proven track record leading an IT, Infrastructure, and/or Operations function

  • Experience leading, structuring and developing high performing DevOps and support teams

  • Demonstrable experience of vendor management

  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and the role it plays in managing application standards and non-functional requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to their widespread workforce


Additionally, it would be preferrable to have the following experience: 


  • Fintech experience from startup to scaleup

  • Managing cross functional teams and technical programme delivery

  • Experience of working in regulated markets

  • Experience in supporting cloud-based systems using Microsoft Azure


Salary: Up to £110,000
