Our client based in Newcastle city centre is looking for an IT Procurement Manager to join them initially on a 6 month fixed term contract.

 

Job Role

 

Responsible for the management of the IT Procurement Plan, including executing tenders, supplier negotiations and achieving value for money

 

  • Manage and execute complex IT procurement projects including identifying the most appropriate route to market

  • Carrying out tendering activities and leading negotiations to establish the required contractual relationships and ensure that IT procurement spend is strategically managed to achieve value for money and continuous improvement in service delivery

  • Provide professional procurement support to faculties and services to enable delivery of their IT projects

  • Support the Head of Procurement in delivering value for money across the IT category by implementing the IT category plan, both through the achievement of direct procurement savings, and indirect via value-add initiatives

  • Plan and manage contract management and strategic supplier relationship management activities as to ensure that the optimum performance and value is achieved

  • Ensure that that effective arrangements are in place for compliance with both external and internal procurement regulations

 

Skills/Experience

 

  • Knowledge of current procurement standards and best practice

  • Experienced in all aspects IT procurement, including setting up and running tenders

  • Negotiating with suppliers on price and related commercial terms

  • Managing supplier performance against contractual SLAs

  • Creating and presenting Management Information

  • Stakeholder management from IT technician up to IT Director and Finance Director

  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to persuade others

  • Positive can-do attitude with analytical & problem-solving capabilities

  • IT contract literate, particularly licence agreements

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in a discipline relevant to the role, and/ or substantial professional experience

  • The role will be working Monday to Friday and may be a mixture of home and site working depending on business needs.
