If so, we would be interested to hear how you would complement our existing Board of Directors, to influence, shape and govern our Foundation Trust as we move into challenging and changing times for the NHS in the North East.


Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is led by highly experienced Chief Executive, Yvonne Ormston MBE and Chair, Alison Marshall. We are seeking to appoint an individual to our Board of Directors who will complement the existing skill mix, and have the ability to provide independent scrutiny of the adequacy and effective operation of the Trust, as well as to offer challenge, support, and robust scrutiny to our dedicated teams.

Promoting the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance you will understand robust risk management and ensure that quality, finance and operational demands are held in balance. In return this will be a highly rewarding position offering you the opportunity to influence the quality and sustainability of health services for our populations now and for the future.


You will have significant senior clinical leadership experience in the NHS or similar and be able to chair our Quality Governance Committee and help to drive improvements to the quality of care we deliver to our patients.
