Configuration Analyst (Linux)

NRG are delighted to be working with an outstanding client in the public sector on the recruitment of a Linux specialist to join a well established team with the view to become a smaller specialist team.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute and coordinate the provision of a professional support service through delivery of customer output.

• Deliver maximum user satisfaction through the development of bespoke software applications.

• Work closely with other IT Service Teams to identify and manage Linux technical incidents and requests.

• Provide technical expertise to users on what their OS can be used for and configure their OS accordingly.

Technical Criteria:

• Experience of developing, implementing and supporting desktop-based Linux services.

• Experience of implementing and supporting Linux/UNIX based systems including installation of application from Open Source and commercial packages.

• Monitoring and management of demand, capacity and performance.

• Knowledge of some of the following: Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat, Centos Linux distributions.

• Awareness of High Performance Computing (HPC).
