Electrical Quality Engineer

Our client is currently looking for a Electrical Quality Engineer to join them on a permanent basis at their site in Flaxby. 

Job Role

  • Electrical Quality Engineer will be responsible for the in-house Electrical Team,  along with  the quality of schemes from the pre-project phase, through the manufacturing lifecycle, site delivery and installation up to the point of handover to the customer

  • Actively participate in the resolution of non-conformances, using information collected from Operational teams and conducting problem-solving using statistical and analytical techniques to develop robust solutions and prevent recurrence

  • The Electrical Quality Engineer will drive quality,  compliance and improvement by defining the methods used to measure products and process key quality characteristics

  • Act with authority holding the business accountable to quality requirements and verify requirements are being met

  • Ensure that identified improvements are executed in accordance with the change control process

  • Define and assure inspection checks for each element to assure that standard work to the design is being met

  • Undertake site visits to review issues encountered in the delivery and installation phases

  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of NICEIC registration requirements

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification or Level 3 Diploma in a relevant electrical discipline

  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations 18th Edition

  • Initial Verification & Certification of Electrical Installations would be an advantage

  • ISO and auditing experience, knowledge of quality planning tools & methodologies including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning  (APQP)

  • Passion for Quality

  • Takes ownership/accountable

  • Leads by example

  • Background in Electrical Quality Assurance 

  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, including Part P

  • Preferable experience in offsite product manufacture

The role is Monday to Friday and predominantly based in the manufacturing facility but will require visits to client sites to ensure quality, conformance and correct installation.
