Raw Material Buyer

Our client based in North Shields are looking for a Raw Materials Buyer to join them initially on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Job Role

• This role is responsible for the operational relationship and planning of material from suppliers covering some of the companies most critical raw materials

• The continuous supply of raw materials to all manufacturing facilities within the agreed economic scope of working capital

• Ensure constant supply of raw materials is maintained for all manufacturing sites

• Using the buying triggers agreed, provide Purchase Orders to suppliers on time for the correct quantities

• Strategic management of suppliers

• Align buying to meet the production plan

• Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials are available

• Coordinate transport arrangements with hauliers where needed

Skills/Experience

• Experience of using ERP systems

• Experience of Buying, Procurement or Purchasing

• Experience of dealing with Import/export companies and practices

• Co-operates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals; shares information; supports others

• Flexible. willing and able to adjust to changing demands and circumstances. Open to new ideas

• Analytical and good attention to working detail
