This is a senior management role carrying high visibility across the entire business. The individual will be a key driver in the success of various projects across the length and breadth of Northumberland and the wider region.

 

As Director of Development Projects you will report to the Managing Director providing leadership for the Project Management Team to deliver a high-performing service and lead on the delivery of transformational projects including Energy Central the UK’s largest Energy Park.

 

 

Key requirements:

 

  • Qualified to relevant degree level in Civil engineering or Project Management (or similar).

  • Exceptional leadership and management attributes, a proven ability to motivate, influence and lead an effective, high-performing team.

  • Extensive senior management technical ability and significant knowledge of strategic project development management in a range of sectors for a complex group of stakeholders.

  • Expertise and knowledge of complex developments taking place on town centre and brownfield sites, former coalfield sites, enterprise zones and of wholesale mixeduse development plans, including critical infrastructure and transport solutions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of best practice in programme management, project controls, procurement and managing risk.

  • Ability to formulate strategy and secure Board approval, when applicable, through effective negotiating and influencing to enable the execution of development plans and to achieve the required decision for the project.

  • Demonstrate effective negotiation, influencing and communication skills at all levels.
