NRG are recruiting for a Head of Infrastructure who will report directly to the IT Director and who’s main objective is to influence the overall direction of the company from an IT perspective. The successful candidate will manage a team of Infrastructure Engineers and who also has hands on technical experience including Cloud services, network and servers, telephony, service monitoring, help desk support and IT security. Our client is based on the outskirts of Newcastle and are currently hosting virtual interviews with the ability to start the successful candidate remotely.

The role

A primary responsibility for the role holder will be to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business in order to successfully deliver on the IT road map and strategy. The overall direction of the company’s IT infrastructure will be determined by you, meaning that you will need to be able to create a business case with good knowledge of the impacts to the business.

As part of a growing company, you will need to have previous experience with acquisitions in order to support your team through merging separate IT infrastructures.

As the Head of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the implementation and operation of all infrastructure technology and will work directly with your team on key business projects, offering guidance and support. This means you will need to be able to provide direction and leadership with the ability to get hands on with all projects.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft stack and Cloud hosting technologies- Azure / Active Directory / Office 365.

  • Knowledge of Edge protection technologies – Firewall / Web Filtering / Remote Access / Site-to-site VPNs.

  • Network management experience – Switch and router administration.

  • Good working knowledge of Change Management and Audit with strong security awareness – vulnerability tools / patching tools.

  • Understanding of data protection and information governance.

  • Previous experience working in a growing company with multiple sites and knowledge of network connectivity with VLANs.

  • Previous deployment and Integration experience for acquisitions and mergers.
