Global Sales Manager

NRG is working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking for a Global Sales Manager to join their commercial team. You will be a crucial member of the senior management team, reporting into the Group General Manager. You will be accountable for leading a commercial team of up to 10 people, whilst strategically developing, growing and maximising the market position of the organisation globally whilst achieving year on year profitable growth. This is a customer facing role, with a significant amount of international travel.

Key responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • To be responsible for assessing the current position and recommending a clear strategic plan for future development

  • To develop a firm grasp of the differential between OEM and distribution business in order to develop the sales strategy

  • To display strong leadership, development and engagement of the sales team to ensure delivery of objectives and targets

  • To encourage and develop strong performance management across the team with annual objectives, progress monitoring and achievement with formal and regular reviews

  • To develop a continuous stream of talent to support their ambitious plans for growth

  • To act as a mentor and foster skills development of all departmental staff to address the current and future needs of the business

  • Work closely with the Senior Managers of the group currently in the US, Australia and Japan to ensure that there is commercial harmonisation with the management of globally represented companies

Skills and experience required:

  • Educated to Degree Level in either Business/Engineering or similar through experience

  • Experience working in a senior management and commercial role

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing a sales department within a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in working successfully in driving customer solutions through diverse sales channels

  • Experience of successfully leading sales strategies for both distribution and OEM customers

  • Global commercial experience and sales of industrial products into world markets

  • Experienced international traveller, with the ability to influence and converse across diverse geographies

  • You must be a highly developed leader

  • Strategic thinker with long term planning skills

  • Calm under pressure, with high levels of resilience
